How do I sign up for EFT?
Simply complete the form, sign it and return it to the CITY OF LIVINGSTON with a voided check (deposit slips and photocopies cannot be processed).

Be sure to pay your current bill!
Automatic payments won't start until your next billing cycle at the earliest.  Your next bill should include a statement message informing you that we have set up your account on EFT.

Who is eligible to participate?
The EFT payment option is available to all CITY OF LIVINGSTON customers with an account in good credit-standing

May I use my savings account to pay my bill?
No, only checking accounts qualify for EFT.

Will I still receive a bill in the mail?
Yes. You will still receive your bill at the first of the month, but you will not pay this bill.  The amount due will be transferre3d from your bank account on the 10th of each month.

What if I don't agree with the amount charged?
If for any reason you wish to dispute your billing, please contact the CITY OF LIVINGSTON as soon as you receive the bill so that we can investigate the complaint.

Is there a charge for this service?
There is not charge from the CITY OF LIVINGSTON for this service.  However, some financial institutions may charge for automatic payments.  Ask your bank about possible fees.

Where can I find my utility account number?
Your account number is located on the top right-hand side of your bill and is ten digits long.

What if I change banks or accounts?
Simply call us at least 10 days before your utility bill due date and tell us your new bank account information.  We will make the change over the phone.

Can I pay multiple accounts through this program?
Yes.  As long as you want each account to be paid from the same bank account, you can sign up multiple accounts under the EFT program.  Simply photocopy the form and complete a separate form for each account.

What if a payment is returned by my bank?
Payments may be returned by a financial institution for insufficient funds, closed accounts or other reasons.  If your payment is returned for any reason, we reserve the right to charge you a $25 processing fee.  The CITY OF LIVINGSTON also reserves the right to discontinue your participation in the EFT program if your payment is rejected.  Your financial institution may also charge fees for rejected payments.

Is it safe and secure?
Yes, both the CITY OF LIVINGSTON and our financial institutions are required to keep your banking information confidential.

How do I stop participation in the program?
Simply call the CITY OF LIVINGSTON at the number printed on your bill at least 5 days prior to the 10^th and notify us that you would like to stop EFT.  Your request will become effective immediately after we receive your notification.
